Since then, he has served as Trustee, Officer and, ultimately, President of the Iowa Chapter of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and the Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association. Throughout the year, Dr. Cohen can be found mentoring third and fourth year medical students from Des Moines University at LCHC Medical Clinic.
In 2014, Dr. Cohen was named an Iowa Rural Health Champion. He also represents Iowa as a Delegate to the American College of Family Physicians Congress of Delegates and the American Osteopathic Association House of Delegates. In 2019, he was recognized as a Distinguished Fellow by the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians and was named Physician of the Year by the Iowa Osteopathic Medical Association.
Dr. Cohen and his wife Suse are proud to call Chariton home. Together, they enjoy spending time with their seven children and eight grandchildren, all of whom live in Iowa. In his free time, Dr. Cohen enjoys gardening, fishing, bowling, tennis, and bicycling. He and Suse also love traveling and attending shows at the Civic Center.
