Price Transparency

Lucas County Health Center strives to provide useful information about charges and costs in order to help you understand and prepare for potential out-of-pocket costs related to medical services you or a loved one may receive at our hospital.

PLEASE NOTE:

The information on this page is not the best representation of the amount a patient or consumer will pay for services rendered at Lucas County Health Center. Patients have varying degrees of financial responsibility relative to their insurance coverage and benefits. Patient copays, co-insurances, deductibles, and coverage levels vary greatly. Therefore, the price each consumer pays is very individual.

You will be responsible for the actual amount you owe based on services rendered to you or your insured dependents. This site does not form a contract for the actual amount you are required to pay. Please check with your health insurance to confirm whether your services are covered and the costs that you may be responsible for. You are also responsible for any costs that are not covered by your insurance.

Price List

The file below is a list of LCHC’s standard prices for items and services. The amount charged for each item is the same for all patients, however, the amount a patient may owe will vary due to factors such as the patient’s insurance plan coverage, deductible, co-pay, co-insurance, or out-of-pocket maximum.

Because every patient’s situation is different, such general charge information should be considered a starting point. The most accurate cost estimate is personalized based on your health insurance plan. Lucas County Health Center provides customized out-of-pocket cost estimates that take insurance and financial need into account. Patients may utilize this free service by calling our Financial Counselor at 641-774-3201, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Price Estimates

Lucas County Health Center offers visitors the chance to see estimated prices for healthcare services at our facility. The information on the following pages is based on the information you provide and are not quotes or guarantees. You should not rely solely upon these estimates.

The information provided on this website is an estimate only.

Because every patient’s situation is different, general charge information should be considered a starting point. The actual charges and amount you owe will depend upon a variety of factors such as the length of time spent in surgery or recovery, the length of your hospital stay, equipment, supplies, tests, and medications used. These estimates do not include charges for physicians not employed by LCHC, radiologists, or pathologists. If you have insurance, your benefits will ultimately determine the amount you owe (including deductibles, co-pays, co-insurance, and out-of-pocket maximums).

No Surprise Billing

When you get emergency care or get treated by an out-of-network provider at an in-network hospital or ambulatory surgical center, you are now protected from surprise billing or balance billing.

“Out-of-network” means providers and facilities that haven’t signed a contract with your health plan.

Out-of-network providers may be permitted to bill you for the difference between what your plan agreed to pay and the full amount charged for a service. This is called balance billing.” This amount is likely more than in-network costs for the same service and might not count toward your annual out-of-pocket limit.

“Surprise billing” is an unexpected balance bill. This can happen when you can’t control who is involved in your care — like when you have an emergency, or when you schedule a visit at an in-network facility but are unexpectedly treated by an out-of-network provider.

Please open the document below to learn more about how you are protected from surprise medical bills, and who to contact if you believe you’ve been wrongly billed.
